ANTI-SMOG PATROL

We carry out measurement missions using drones equipped with state-of-the-art sensors that can detect the burning of waste and other substances not approved for thermal processing in installations not intended for this purpose. For each measurement session, we provide a geo-report documenting the actions taken. We support the activities of local authorities and cooperate with institutions and organizations fighting smog.

What is smog?

Smog is an atmospheric phenomenon created as a result of mixing fog with smoke and exhaust fumes. It is formed, among others, by burning illegal fuels in households, as a result of which harmful chemical compounds such as sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides or particulate matter are emitted into the atmosphere.
It is currently one of the most common unnatural causes of death of Poles. Every year, more than 44,000 people lose their lives due to air pollution in Poland. As many as 36 of the 50 most polluted cities in the EU are in Poland.
For the sake of the health and life of the country's residents, we are constantly developing our measurement services, cooperating with City and Commune Offices throughout the Polish. The aim of our activities is to improve the activities of the Services by effectively and quickly indicating places where there is a suspicion of burning prohibited substances

WHAT ARE THE MEASUREMENTS WITH THE HELP OF UNMANNED AIRCRAFT?

Measurements are carried out by unmanned aerial vehicles included in the MapAir system. The patrol component includes a heavy measuring machine carrying sensors that analyze the composition of the smoke and a light reconnaissance and navigation machine that allows for quick detection of active furnaces and increases the safety of direct measurements. We can perform measurements at temperatures below 20 degrees Celsius.
Each of the machines is operated by persons with appropriate UAVO BVLOS + MR> 25 kg qualifications, allowing for flights with unmanned aerial vehicles with a maximum take-off weight of up to 25 kg.

ON THE BASIS OF WHICH ACT IS ALLOWED SMOG MEASUREMENTS WITH THE HELP OF UNMANNED AIRCRAFT?

The work of the Team is based on the provisions of the Environmental Protection Law, Art. 379, which allows the delegation of competent services to carry out controls along with the necessary equipment.
The measurement taken by the sensor is an indication for the controlling body, but it is the service (Municipal Police, Police) that decides to enter the property and carry out a detailed inspection and, if necessary, issue a penalty ticket or refer the case to court - so all activities are carried out in the presence of an appropriate service patrol.

The Measurement Team also has to ensure safety in air traffic, resulting from the Aviation Law Act, i.e. control of air zones and their availability, and if necessary, to obtain permission to fly in a given area.

STAGES OF THE SERVICE IMPLEMENTATION

THE COURSE OF PATROL

STEP 1 - CHECK-IN
Meeting with the representatives of the Ordering Party. Check-in before the flight, determining the safety rules and the area of operation.
STEP 2 - LOCATION OF FIREPLACES
Our measuring team will locate fireplaces active at a given moment using daylight and / or thermal imaging cameras.
STEP 3 - DIRECT MEASUREMENT
From each chimney selected for detailed inspection, a sample is collected for analysis in real time. The measuring device is installed on one of the MapAir system machines. The results are sent to the receiver in real time and saved on the server.
STEP 4 - DETECT
When any irregularities are detected, our team informs the Ordering Party's representatives participating in the patrol. It is officials on behalf of the local government who make the decisions about entering the property on which there are suspicions.
STEP 5 - REPORT
After each measurement session, our analytical department prepares a report. The study includes a summary of activities from a given day, the description of meteorological conditions and terrain characteristics, values recorded during measurements and a rich list of maps and charts allowing for further planning of activities to improve air quality.

MapAir unmanned aerial vehicles are an effective tool in detecting irregularities.

Our precise sensors are able to register even small deviations from the expected values, which very often allows us to detect the burning of garbage already at the ignition stage.

Thanks to the use of the most modern technologies, it is possible to effectively control entire areas

The high efficiency of our devices allows you to control an area of up to 1 square kilometer during one measurement session.Without physically entering the building and checking the furnace or boiler.

Our activities also have a preventive dimension

Due to the unique form of conducting, area measurements are a kind of event in the local community. The awareness of the inevitability of control allows to significantly limit breaking the law by burning rubbish or other substances not intended for use in heating installations.

Expand your planning capabilities thanks to data from MapAir systems

Our analytical work will ensure that the data that the Ordering Party receives as part of the service is compatible with the spatial information systems. Thanks to this, it is possible to use our solutions in SmartCity systems. In preparing the data, we take into account the guidelines resulting from the INSPIRE directive. Thanks to well-developed, precise information, it is possible to make the right decisions.
